Greek Country Salad Recipe

Greek salad is a mealtime staple in Greece, although more popular in summers. Traditionally it is known as ‘horiatiki’, or country salad. And is made from fresh tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, feta cheese, kalamata olives and olive oil bring the standard ingredients.

In some countries like UK and America lettuce salad with Greek-inspired ingredients, dressed with oil and vinegar are also referred as Greek salad.


Greek Country Salad

  • 2 tbsp – Olive Oil
  • 1 No – Red onion large finely sliced
  • 3 No – Firm ripe tomatoes medium finely sliced
  • 1 No – Cucumber large finely sliced
  • 1 No – Green pepper medium finely sliced
  • 1/2 cup – Feta cheese
  • 8-10 No – Black olives pitted sliced
  • 2 tbsp – Balsamic/wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp – Oregano dried
  • 3 tbsp – Parsley chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

  • Mix the 1st five ingredients with salt, oil, and vinegar.
  • Garnish with feta cheese, olives, and herbs. Bon Appetite
